Special Training Course on

"WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY"
for the officials of Nordex Global Shared Services Pvt. Ltd.

17^th & 18^th September 2026

The Skill Development and Training (SDT) Division, National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) successfully conducted a tailored two-day training course on "Wind Energy Technology" for the officials of Nordex Engineering and Technology Pvt. Ltd. on 17^th and 18^th September 2026. The program was designed to provide end-to-end technical insights required to assess, implement, and maintain commercially viable wind energy projects.

Key Highlights & Demographics

• Total Participants: 40 officials (16 Female and 24 Male)
• Program Objectives: Build end-to-end domain expertise ranging from foundational, wind resource assessment to advanced project operationalization and wind-solar hybrid integration.
•  Leadership: Inaugurated and concluded by Dr. P. Kanagavel, Director & Head, SDT Division, NIWE.

Curriculum & Technical Sessions

Led by NIWE’s subject matter experts and senior engineers, the curriculum delivered 8 specialized technical modules across key lifecycle phases:

• Foundational & Aerodynamics: Overview of Wind Turbine Components; Aerodynamic Aspects of Wind Turbines.
• Resource & Site Assessment: Wind Resource Assessment, Design & Layout of Wind Farms; Site Selection for Wind Monitoring Stations.
• Electrical & Control Systems: Electrical, Control, and Protection Systems in Wind Turbines; Grid Integration of Wind Energy.
• Testing, Certification & Quality: Wind Turbine Testing & Measurement Techniques; Type Certification of Wind Turbines; Power Quality Measurements & Analysis.
• Operations & Advanced Deployment: Installation, Commissioning, and O&M Aspects.

Participant Feedback & Outcomes

The training program was a well-organized and enriching experience that provided valuable insights into wind turbine topologies, resource assessment, and testing. While participants appreciated the informative content, they recommended extending the course to at least three days to cover more topics and including practical sessions.
