30th National Training Course on
"WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY"
held during 15th – 17th July 2026
The Skill Development and Training Division of NIWE has successfully conducted the 30th National Training Course on "Wind Energy Technology" held during 15th to 17th July 2026. This course provided focused coverage of wind power, from Introduction to wind and its technology, to wind resource assessment, installation, commissioning, operation & maintenance, financial and policy aspects. Fifty-five participants from seven Indian States (Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Nagaland, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh) had attended the training. The diverse group comprised 42 male and 13 female participants.
Dr. P. Kanagavel, Director and Head of the SDT Division, officiated the course's inauguration. The curriculum then featured eleven specialized technical sessions led by a team of nine NIWE scientists and engineers.

Glimpse of Classroom Lectures
As part of the training programme, the participants visited NIWE’s renewable energy facilities to gain practical exposure to the technologies discussed during the sessions. The field visit helped them connect theoretical concepts with real-world applications. Participants observed key facilities, including Vertical and Horizontal Axis Small Wind Turbines, the Wind-Solar Hybrid System, Wind Turbine Nacelle, Wind Monitoring Station (Meteorological Mast), Solar Calibration Laboratory, and the Solar Radiation Resource Assessment (SRRA) Station, enriching their overall learning experience.

The training program on wind energy received highly positive feedback, with participants describing it as an excellent session that effectively covered all intended topics within the stipulated time.
