This feasibility study evaluates the technical, economic, environmental and infrastructural feasibility of developing an offshore wind farm along the Tamil Nadu coast. The study assesses offshore wind resources, suitable turbine technologies, wind farm layout, energy production, foundation and geotechnical requirements, electrical and grid connectivity, installation and port infrastructure, operation and maintenance, project costs and associated risks. It also examines environmental and social considerations and identifies the key investigations and development activities required before commercial implementation. The study provides a comprehensive technical foundation and recommendations to support the planning and future development of offshore wind energy projects in Tamil Nadu.
