Report of Third Event

Boot Camp at Kayathar

for 13 & 19 years age group (two sessions)

To explore Wind Energy Technology and its Techniques, Wind Farm Development

NIWE with the support of MNRE has scheduled eight events (each event are scheduled for a week duration) to commemorate the 75 years of India's Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav).

The third event, Boot Camp at Kayathar - To explore Wind Energy Technology and its Techniques, Wind Farm Development (Wind Resource Assessment and Research & Development - for 13 & 19 years age group (two sessions) held during 20^th to 25^th September 2021 conducted successfully.

The announcement about the event along with following instructions were hosted in NIWE website and circulated through Social Media pages.

1. Interested students may register on or before 17.09.2021 through the google form link - Click here
2. The registration is free.
3. The selected students have to reach WTRS, Kayathar.
4. The students have to make own arrangement for transportation, accommodation and food.
5. Lunch and refreshments will be served by NIWE.
6. E- Certificate will be provided to the participants.
7. The instructions will be sent to all the registered participants.

The 1st session of the Boot Camp held on 20^th & 21^th September 2021 for the students 13 years age group was attended by 29 students and 2 staff from Government High School, Ayyanar Uthu, Tamil Nadu and Government High School, Kayathar, Tamil Nadu. The 2nd session of the Boot Camp held during 22^nd & 23^rd September 2021 for students 19 years age group was attended by 91 students and 6 staff from Loyola Institute of Science & Technology, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu.

NIWE engineers have explained about NIWE's Role in Wind Industry and gave lecture about introduction to Wind Energy, Wind Resource Assessment and Wind Farm Development. The students visited Wind Turbine Test Station, Wind Turbine Research Station, Wind Monitoring Station, Research Wind Farms facility (200 kW, 600 kW and 2000 kW Wind Turbines), Wind - Solar Hybrid system and Sub-station, where they got to know the small and large wind turbine testing process and basic knowledge of Wind Industry. The camp was very much appreciated by students.
