Special Training Course on
"WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY"
for the officials of Gail (India) Ltd.
27th February - 1st March 2023

The Skill Development and Training Division of NIWE had successfully conducted the special training course on "WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY" for the officials of Gail (India) Ltd held during 27th February to 1st March 2023. The course addressed all aspects of Wind Power starting from what is wind to wind resources assessment, project implementation and operations & maintenance aspects in a focused manner along with offshore wind aspects towards going for economically viable wind farm projects. A total of 26 participants working in different facets of projects have participated in the course.

The Programme Director, Dr. P. Kanagavel, Director & Head, SDT & IM Division, NIWE delivered the welcome address. The training programme was inaugurated with the lighting of the lamp. Shri. S.A. Mathew, Director and Head, Certification Division, NIWE had made the introductory address and released the course material. Dr. K. Boopathi, Director and Head, Offshore Wind Development, Data Analytics, Forecasting & Information Technology (OWD, DAF & IT) Division, NIWE delivered the Vote of Thanks.

As part of the training course, the Course Material was distributed to all the participants, which is a compilation of all the presentations / lectures collected from the faculties specially prepared for this course for the benefit of the participants as a ready reference material.

During the 3 days course, 10 classroom lectures were scheduled apart from visit to wind Turbine manufacturing factory. The course content of the training were handled by Scientists, Engineers of NIWE, who have years of experience in the field.

  • Wind Turbine Testing & Measurement Techniques

The participants were taken for a factory visit to M/s. Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy Pvt. Ltd., Mamandur, where they had a chance of seeing the wind turbine nacelle assembling and other connected equipment with respect to wind turbine from the industry experts who are actually in the field.
