Under a government sponsored initiative, MNES asked C-WET coordinate the initial part of the two-week programme to host about 20 participants from BIMSTEC and ASEAN Member Countries on 6th - 18th December 2004.
C-WET welcomed the participants and organized a well-received full-day workshop. The next day the Participants were taken to Pondicherry to Auroville and blade manufacturing facilities set up by a private wind turbine manufacturer. In order to give field exposure, the team was taken to wind farms around Jogimatti near Chitradurga in Karnataka.
