ITCS unit had successfully organized the 17th National training course on "WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY" during 18th to 20th March 2015 to address all aspects of Wind Power starting from introduction to wind and its technology, wind resource assessment, installation and commissioning, operation and maintenance aspects of wind farms in a focused manner along with financial and policy aspects. The course was attended by 43 participants from wind turbine manufactures, developer, IPP’s Bankers, consultants, students and academicians from 13 States of the Country. There are 37 male and 6 female candidates of diverse background participated in the Training Course. The training course was inaugurated by Dr. E Sreevalsan, Assistant Vice President, Gamesa Wind Turbines Pvt. Ltd., Chennai
As part of the training course, a Course Material published and distributed to all the participants, faculties and guest, which is a book compilation of the write – ups of all the presentations / lectures collected from the lecturers specially prepared for this particular content of the course for the benefit of the participants as a ready reference material. The Course Material book was released by our Chief Guest.
There were 24 topic scheduled during the course which were handled by 16 NIWE Scientists / Engineers and 8 External experts drawn from Wind Turbine Manufacturers, Wind Farm Developers, Consultants, Academicians, Utility and IPP

Dr. Purnima Jalihal, Chief Scientist, NIOT was the Chief Guest for the Valedictory Function and distributed the Course Certificates to all the participants after his valedictory address.
Feedback about the training has been collected from all the participants on various aspects of the training and the overall response is 50 % Excellent, 33 % Good and 17 % is satisfactory. The training course is highly acclaimed for course structure, intellectual level, hospitality and the organizing capabilities.
