23rd National Training Course on "WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY"
held during 11th - 15th March 2019

The SDT Division of NIWE had successfully conducted the 23rd National training course on "WIND ENERGY TECHNOLOGY" held during 11th to 15th March 2019. The course addressed all aspects of Wind Power starting from introduction to wind and its technology, wind resource assessment, installation and commissioning, operation and maintenance aspects of wind farms in a focused manner along with financial and policy aspects. Totally, 42 participants with diverse background from 7 States of the Country has attended the course.

The training course was inaugurated by Shri. K.C. Dhimole, Technical Advisor to Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh.

As part of the training course, Course Material was released and distributed to all the participants, faculties and guest, which is a book compilation of the write - ups of all the presentations / lectures collected from the lecturers specially prepared for this particular content of the course for the benefit of the participants as a ready reference material.

There were 19 presentations scheduled during the course, which were handled by 13 NIWE Engineers and 3 External experts drawn from Wind Turbine industry and Academician.

The Renewable Energy facilities available in the NIWE Campus were also showcased to the participants for practical exposure, wherein they had an opportunity of understanding about the Wind and Solar Resource Assessment set up and how the Hybrid System (Wind - Solar - Diesel) works etc..

The participants were taken to Technical & Safety Training Centre of M/s. Vestas Wind Technology India Private Limited located at Nellikuppam, Chennai, where they had a chance of visiting all the components of wind turbine and the experts trainers explained the working principals of the components along with the troubleshooting techniques. Dr. K. Balaraman, Director General, NIWE distributed the Course Certificates to all the participants during the Valedictory Function.
