Introduction

Wind sector in India is growing at a rapid pace with increased utilization of wind energy for the power development. Type Certification of wind turbines plays an active role to facilitate the orderly growth of wind energy sector in India. MNRE Approved NIWE as Type certification body in India for all wind related issues. NIWE provides the certification services in India based on the IS/IEC 61400-22:2010. The Type Certification of Wind Turbines are being offered by NIWE.

Type Certification: Procedure by which a certification body gives written assurance that a wind turbine type conforms to specified requirements.
