Ever since 2004, NIWE has been in the fore front of conducing International Training programmesprimarily to inculcate technical knowledge on wind energy among the people in the industry, refreshers, and freshers for enriching their knowledge. NIWE has organized about 40 International training coursessponsored by MNRE, Government of India, under Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation Programme (ITEC), Special Commonwealth Assistance for Africa Programme (SCAAP), India Africa Forum Summit - II & III (IAFS-II & III) and Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Cooperation programme.
As part of the international training programme NIWE has been organizing the training for Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Countries since 2010, sponsored by the Development Partner Administration (DPA-II) Division of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Government of India. As of now, 25 such training programmes have been conducted in which 606 participants were benefited by the training.
The training course is designed in such a way to be useful even for the fresher in the industry. Apart from the class room lectures, practical sessions, study tour are also arranged during the training, which was well received by the participants of earlier training courses. As part of study tour, participants will be taken in and around kayathar and kanyakumari to visit Wind Turbine Test Station (WTTS), Wind Turbine Research Station (WTRS), Wind Resource Assessment Monitoring Station and working Wind Farms to gain practical knowledge and hands-on experience. Participants will also have opportunities to visit few important places to have glimpses of India's cultural heritage during their visit.
